Indoor Location Based Systems

Indoor location based systems, or ILBS, describes a network that observes wireless devices moving within buildings. While most people are familiar with GPS as a location system, they will also recognize that it works best outside — in direct line of sight with the satellites. Go inside, or even under trees or in the shadow of tall buildings and it isn’t nearly as useful.

Retail and other industries who operate primarily in inside spaces are clamoring to find ways to observe and understand their existing and potential customers. According to Gartner Research, the market for wireless location-based applications is expected to reach $20.6 Billion in 2015.

Prima Research’s technology can be used to guarantee accuracy and improve precision of indoor location based systems.
